Explore the excitement of UAE National Day 2023 with these activities

As the UAE National Day weekend approaches, it’s time to plan how you’ll make the most of the celebrations.

Commemoration Day falls on Thursday, November 30, with National Day following on Saturday, December 2. The festivities continue with two days of celebration on Sunday, December 3, and Monday, December 4. For private-sector workers, the workweek will conclude on Friday, resuming on Tuesday, December 5.

Dubai has a plethora of activities lined up for the UAE National Day weekend, offering plenty of options for a good time. It’s time to schedule some fun and embrace the spirit of celebration.

Take a trip to the beach and enjoy a picnic.

Al Mamzar Park, situated on the Dubai-Sharjah border, is a delightful destination for the extended weekend. This ideal picnic spot features a beach, four expansive grassy areas, bicycle paths, a swimming pool, numerous barbecue areas, and a skate park, offering a diverse range of recreational options. The park is open from 8 am to 10 pm on Sun-Wed and from 8 am to 11 pm on Thu-Sat and official holidays, with an entry fee of Dhs5. Located on Al Khaleej Street in Al Mamzar, the park also provides convenient kiosks for stocking up on beach day essentials, including ice cream.

Hike through Hatta

December offers fantastic weather for a hike in the Hajar mountains. Make sure to explore the Hatta sign, recently awarded a Guinness World Record in September 2023. Standing at an impressive 19.28 meters, it holds the title of the world’s tallest landmark sign, surpassing the Hollywood sign at 13.71 meters. The fact that it’s free to visit adds to its allure, making it a truly awesome experience.

Hop on the Palm Monorail

To enjoy panoramic views of The Palm, consider taking a ride on The Palm Monorail. Commencing from the Palm Gateway station at the island’s entry, the monorail journey extends through Al Ittihad Park, Nakheel Mall, and Atlantis Aquaventure Waterpark. This provides an excellent opportunity to explore Palm Jumeirah without the hassle of navigating through traffic.

Global Village is an excellent choice for the long weekend, offering a plethora of attractions in Season 28. A notable addition is the new Mini World, located behind Restaurant Alley. Explore 25 miniature landmarks, including iconic structures such as the Eiffel Tower, the Taj Mahal, and the Statue of Liberty. Additionally, Mini World features mini golf for added entertainment.
