Al Qana, Abu Dhabi’s waterfront destination, has announced the upcoming opening of Butterfly Gardens Abu Dhabi in 2024. Positioned adjacent to The National Aquarium at Al Qana, the Butterfly Gardens will serve as a sanctuary for over 40 species, comprising more than 2,000 butterflies, along with a diverse array of flora and fauna.
Guests will have a unique opportunity to observe butterflies in their natural habitat, freely interacting with visitors. The insect species will be thoughtfully showcased within enclosures along a mapped-out path, and pupa displays will illustrate the live development of these captivating creatures.
The project will feature three distinct manicured zones: Asia, the Americas, and Eden Café. Visitors can explore lush tropical gardens inspired by the unique ecosystems of Asia, Central, and South America. The Eden Café, amidst the breathtaking butterfly and insect species, will offer an oasis of tranquility with a cascading waterfall, a serene koi pond, the graceful presence of white peacocks, and the option to enjoy high tea with butterflies.
A noteworthy feature will be the enchanting starlight night setting, providing a magical experience after sunset. The Gardens will also welcome school field trips, making it an ideal educational destination for students.
Scheduled to commence construction in early 2024, Butterfly Gardens Abu Dhabi is expected to open within the same year. The indoor facility will be climate-controlled, ensuring optimal conditions for the flora and fauna while providing year-round comfort for guests.
